See who you, and others, can become.
The Edventure Truth: “Don’t judge yourself only by where you are. Remember how far you can go“
You are unfinished and so is everyone around you.
Being Positively Developmental means seeing people not only for who they are today, but for who they have the potential to become.
That starts with you remembering…
- Mistakes don’t have to define you.
- Feedback doesn’t have to diminish you.
- Failure doesn’t have to be final.
- You can learn, adjust and fail forwards.
This isn’t about relentless positivity or pretending everything is brilliant. You can’t always be positive but you can aim to be constructive.
Look back at who you were three years ago.
Now imagine who you could become three years from today.
Development happens when you believe change is possible and then participate in creating it. That closely reflects the original element’s emphasis on constructive positivity, failing forwards, kindness and being “on the side of who people can be,” particularly yourself.
This element’s Challenge Card…
Test yourself, test those around you…

If you liked this, you’ll love these elements too:
- Accountable to Future You: Turn development into decisions your future self benefits from.
- Quiet Confidence: Build confidence from evidence of your own growth.
- Love Yourself & Your Journey: Keep developing without believing you’re somehow inadequate today.
Until then #BeEdventurous
